How much do you charge?
It is astounding that so many people consider price to be more important over quality when it comes to booking entertainment.  The truth is, entertainment is the primary focus of an occasion and one should consider the value (what is included in the price) when hiring a DJ.
PJ the DJ has designed his business to accommodate his clients with the valuable quality that they are looking for at an affordable rate.

There are many variables that determine the price of a DJ:
     The DJ's experience, popularity, reputation, skill level and area of expertise
    The DJ's credentials (PJ is a member of the National Association of Mobile Entertainers)
    The quality and quantity of equipment used (Audio, Lighting Packages, Video Screen)
    Demand for the date of your event.
    Amount of pre-planning required for the specific type of event
    Size and scale of the event (1,000 person Prom vs. 30 person Birthday Party)
    Location and Travel-time Required...

Where do you DJ?  Will you travel?
PJ the DJ Entertainment is a "mobile disc jockey service."  This means, he will travel* to your event venue of choice with his own equipment.  CLICK HERE to see a map of covered areas or  CLICK HERE to see a list of cities and counties that PJ serves.

Depending on seasonal conditions and demand, PJ may be able to travel beyond the boundaries shown on the map.

Are you insured?
Yes, PJ the DJ Entertainment is fully insured with a $1,000,000.00 Liability Insurance Policy and can provide proof of insurance upon request. Many venues and banquet halls require this type of insurance and it is highly encouraged to ask a DJ this question before booking.
Do you have back-up Equipment?
PJ the DJ also has a full set of back-up equipment available to him in the unlikely event that there should be a technical difficulty.

When should I book my event?
Most people book events between 2 and 6 months in advance.

What are the most highly-demanded dates of the year?
     The first, second, & third weekend of June.
     The first weekend in October
    New Year's Eve
    Memorial Day Weekend
    4th of July Weekends
    Labor Day Weekend
    & many others...

Scheduling an event on a highly-demanded date may ultimately lead to less attendees since there is a high probability that many invitees will have another obligation on that date.  Also, prices for banquet halls, caterers and party supplies are inflated during peak times.

How do I communicate with PJ the DJ?
Why do I need an e-mail address?
PJ's cutting-edge eBOOKING process is designed for convenience and quality assistance When dealing with any service-related business, it is in the best interests of both contracting parties to have every detail in writing. Many other DJ companies only communicate over the phone which can ultimately lead to a high rate of human error. All correspondence between PJ and his clients is conducted electronically via e-mail and online client forms to ensure accuracy.  Accordingly, all clients MUST have an active e-mail address in order to send and receive information regarding their event.

Will PJ communicate with me by phone if I don't like the internet?
Occasional telephone conversation is certainly okay; however, the majority of correspondence between PJ and his clients is conducted electronically via e-mail and online client forms to ensure accuracy.
It is imperative that you do not book PJ if you are unable to fulfill this requirement.
 

How long should my party be?
The duration of your event plays a major role in the party dynamics.  For example, a party that is too long will feel slow and boring.  Conversely, a party that is too short will not fulfill the guests' expectations.

PJ recommends the following durations:
     Small Events (Birthday, Family Event, Office Party) = 3 to 4 hours
     Medium Events (Sweet 16, School Dance, etc...) = 4 hours
     Large Events (Prom, Wedding, Formal) = 4 to 5 hours

Do I have to sign or submit a contract by mail?
No, PJ the DJ Entertainment is one of the first services that offers a completely electronic booking system.  In lieu of paper contracts, PJ has created an eBOOKING process that asks the client to agree to the BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS prior to paying the required deposit.  This system is much easier and faster than mail.
How do I pay the deposit?
A deposit is required to officially secure PJ the DJ for the date of your event.
Once a client signs the online contract, he or she will be prompted to pay the required deposit by means of credit card, PayPal or by personal check.

You will be provided with more specific payment information upon booking.


When do I pay my balance?
The payment of you balance is due prior to the contracted start-time of your event.
Who do I make the check out to?
Checks are to made payable to "PJ REBOVICH."  Checks made out to any other name will not be considered valid payment


Do you take music requests?
Yes,
PJ the DJ gives his clients the opportunity to request music online prior to the event and he can also accept guest requests (if warranted by the host).
Can we meet with the DJ before the event?
If you are planning a high-priority event (Prom, Wedding, etc.), it is highly encouraged that the you meet with PJ prior to the event date due to the amount of attention required for large-scale occasions.

Written e-mail communication is sufficient for small and medium-sized events.
(Sweet 16's, School Dances, Birthday Parties, etc.)
*Additional fees may apply if private consultation is not included into the initial offer & contract.


How much time do you need to set-up equipment?
Set-up time is determined by the following factors:
     Amount of equipment needed for your event
     Parking distance, stairs, elevators, stages, & obstacles

Accordingly, PJ will need at least one hour for set-up.  Larger events (Prom, Wedding, etc.) will require more time.  You will be provided with specific times upon confirmation of your event.  It is also very important that you inform the DJ about any conditions that may lengthen this process (parking, stairs, elevators, loading dock procedures, long or narrow hallways, stages, or any other unusual circumstance.)


What kind of audio & lighting equipment do you use?
PJ the DJ only uses top quality, professional grade audio, video, and lighting equipment.
A light show is included in every indoor event package. When comparing PJ the DJ Entertainment with other companies, please consider the quality and quantity of equipment that is included in the price.  Most other companies charge extra per lighting fixture.

Can I request more time during the event?
Yes, if PJ is available, he can extend the duration of your event.  Additional time must be requested within two hours of the original end-time in order for PJ to adapt accordingly.
The additional time will be charged at a premium rate, so it is suggested that you determine the length of your event before booking to save money.

Is gratuity automatically included in the price?
No, although it is a common practice for DJ companies to automatically charge a gratuity fee, PJ feels that the decision to tip a performer should be left to the client. In the unlikely event that you are not completely satisfied with your entertainment, you should not feel obligated to tip the DJ. However, if you feel that the DJ exceeded your expectations, you are certainly encouraged to show your appreciation.
